Timing: 45 min – 60 min. (assuming participants know the game of Chess)
Excerpt: I designed this exercise for a Pair Programming simulation using the media of the game of chess. The idea is to have a pair on each side of the board, they would work together to finish a famous game against their opponents (a pair of Chess players also).
Learning Points: Immersion experience in pair-work environment and problem solving. Communication as a team sport to solve complex problems where multiple “move” are possible, and different views of possible outcomes may result. Dialogue about the use of multiple peoples view of the problem domain and engagement in problem solving.
